Twenty-four days. One 1967 Fastback. Fifty-two pages.
The Mustang arrived in 1964 and gave American car culture its clearest shape. The fastback followed in 1965, and with a V8 under the hood it became the car a generation learned to want. Sixty years later the 1967 Fastback is still the silhouette people picture when someone says Mustang.
This officially licensed Ford Mustang Advent Calendar builds that car one piece at a time. Open a door a day through December and assemble a 1:43 scale model of the 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback, finished in Raven Black with red trim stripes and a red interior. Parts plug and screw together. No glue, no paint, no modelling experience needed.
The book
Alongside the build runs a 52-page large-format volume by Jürgen Lewandowski, illustrated throughout with photography from the Ford Motor Company archives. It follows the Mustang from the 1964 launch onward, so the car taking shape on your desk comes with its history attached. English and German, both in the same volume. It stays on the shelf long after the calendar is empty.
What's behind the 24 doors
- Multi-part die-cast and plastic model kit of the 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback in 1:43 scale, in Raven Black with red trim stripes
- A dynamic presentation base with a built-in sound module — press the button and the V8 note of the '67 Mustang plays
- The 52-page large-format book by Jürgen Lewandowski
- Two fold-out panoramic backdrops, so the finished car sits in a scene rather than against a wall
- An A2-size poster and a set of postcards with Mustang motifs, ready to frame
- Every screw, plus the screwdriver and a cleaning cloth, sorted by day
- And a handful of extras FRANZIS leaves off the box on purpose. They're meant to be surprises, so we won't spoil them
The build
Each door holds one numbered stage. Ten to fifteen minutes of work, then the model goes back on the shelf until tomorrow. By Christmas Eve the Fastback sits finished on its base at roughly 15 × 10 × 10 cm — desk-sized, and loud when you want it to be. The doors are numbered rather than dated, so nothing stops you building it in an afternoon.
Who it's for
The Mustang owner. The person who can date a Fastback by its tail lights. The model builder after a subject with sixty years behind it. Recommended for ages 14 and up.
Ships Free from our ware house in Cleveland. One AA battery required for the sound module, not included.
