This officially licensed Harley-Davidson Advent Calendar turns that story into something you build with your hands. Open one door a day through December and assemble a detailed die-cast and plastic model of the 1984 Harley-Davidson FXST Softail — the bike that started the Softail line. Everything screws together. No glue, no paint, no modelling experience needed.
The book
Alongside the build runs a 52-page large-format volume by Harley-Davidson author Horst Rösler, illustrated throughout with photography from the Harley-Davidson archives. It follows the marque decade by decade, so the bike taking shape on your desk comes with its history attached. English and German, both in the same volume. It stays on the shelf long after the calendar is empty.

The build
Each door holds one numbered stage. Ten to fifteen minutes of work, then the model goes back on the shelf until tomorrow. By Christmas Eve the Softail sits finished on its display base, ready for a desk, a shop counter or a display cabinet. The doors are numbered rather than dated, so nothing stops you building it in an afternoon.
